Date of Establishment: 20.02.1950
Name of the Enterprise: Unified Agricultural Cooperative
Merger of Cooperatives: In 1959 with Horná Zlatná, and in 1976 with JRD Čerhát, JRD Okoličná na Ostrove, and JRD Štúrová.
In 1977, the name of the cooperative changed to: JRD of the Soviet Army Zlatná na Ostrove.
Mechanization: For performing agricultural work, we had at our disposal: 58 wheeled tractors, including 1 Š-180, 5 tracked tractors, 52 tractor trailers, 2 trucks, large-capacity machines such as the Š-180, a silage harvester, and a beet topper.
Investment: Based on the development concept, in 1977 we began constructing a social-operational building within the village of Zlatná na Ostrove. The new administrative building was completed in 1982.
In 1991, PD Agroplod Štúrová separated from the cooperative, and later in 1993, the former JRD Okoličná na Ostrove also separated.
In 1991, the name was changed to: Agricultural Cooperative Zlatná na Ostrove.
The company PD Zlatná na Ostrove is constantly evolving, cultivating, and trading agricultural products. We grow and trade high-quality products such as wheat (soft, hard/durum), barley, corn, rapeseed, sunflower, and soybeans.

The Agricultural Cooperative Zlatná na Ostrove is located in the western part of the Komárno district, right next to the Danube River. It lies at an altitude of 111 to 113 meters within the cadastral areas of the villages Zlatná na Ostrove, Okoličná na Ostrove, the Komárno district of Nová Stráž, and Čalovec. The cultivated land predominantly consists of soil types such as brown soil and alluvial soils. The spatial distribution of the land is almost ideal, and the entire area belongs to the corn-growing region.
Our cooperative uses the most honest and professional methods in crop production.
We ensure the delivery of goods directly to the designated location.
We offer storage in silos and large-capacity warehouse facilities.
The commodities we trade must meet the highest standards of STN norms.
The goal of our crop production division is to grow the highest quality plant products while adhering to the ecological and economic aspects of various cultivation technologies. At the same time, we strive to contribute to the sustainable development of the region where PD Zlatná na Ostrove operates.
We primarily grow wheat (food-grade/Durum), malting barley, corn (traditional/waxy), sunflower (LO/HO), rapeseed, poppy, and soybeans.
All agricultural practices are carried out with the utmost care for the environment, in accordance with good farming practices.
Animal production takes place at PD Dubník, where we have a modern barn for 650 dairy cows, one of the most modern in Slovakia. We are among the top breeders of Holstein cattle in Slovakia. Each year, 600 cows produce 8 million liters of milk, with a yield of around 11,500 liters per lactation. We plan to increase both the herd size and the milk yield.
The cows move from the barn to a modern milking parlor via a connecting corridor, where there are parallel stalls for 36 cows. Fresh milk flows through pipes from the milking parlor directly to the dairy. The dairy and cheese production building is located between the barn and the milking parlor, with part of the cheese aging rooms situated in the basement beneath the milking parlor.
Here we produce authentic, fresh farm products from our region. "Mliekovo" is the realization of our dream to bring back the taste of real, honest dairy products that people remember from their childhood.

Storage is a key element in the entire process of caring for the cultivated products, which includes receiving, storing, and dispatching goods from production to usage. Thanks to continuous development, our company is capable of storing an increasing amount of grains and other products. Our storage facilities are built to European standards. We have ensured the storage of agricultural commodities by constructing standardized grain silos from SYMAGA. Loading and unloading of grains and other products are carried out using mobile mechanisms. The weight of the goods is measured using a certified scale. Our employees perform control measures with great expertise and attention to ensure the maintenance of the quality and quantity of stored products.
The gradual reconstruction of other facilities is underway, such as the conversion of barns into storage for agricultural chemicals.
